“Trash Photos”

From time to time I’ll be posting in this blog some of what my family and friends have jokingly come to call “trash photos” — pictures taken everywhere — mostly in Latin America and the Caribbean, but some in North America too — on my favorite issue, waste management, in all its manifestations. Some I’ll be accompanying with musings and observations on what they illustrate or issues they raise, others I’ll let speak for themselves. And a few will be an attempt at humor! But in all cases, I’ll try to identify where and when I took the photo and what you’re seeing. I hope some will provoke thought and discussion. In all cases, I hope you enjoy! If you have any questions or comments you don’t wish to publicly post here on the blog, just use the contact form. The same holds true if you want permission to copy, use or print these copyrighted works. 😉 This first photo was taken this past spring in a municipal park in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The park trash bin in the lower left corner is made from recycled Tetra Pak aseptic cartons.
