 Brazil: RJ Adopts Law on Collection of End-of-Life Cell Phones and Accessories
 On 30 August 2006 the Governor of Rio de Janeiro state (RJ) signed a law requiring all establishments that sell cell phones to provide collection bins for end-of-life cell phones and their accessories. Establishments not complying could be fined up to 5,000 UFIR-RJ (UFIR-RJ is an official accounting unit – this value at 2006 rates would be R$8,496).
