 Argentina: Province Adopts Plastic Bag Ban
 On 28 December 2004 the Argentine province of Mendoza banned supermarkets, hypermarkets, shopping centers "or similars" from offering their customers non-biodegradable carry bags. Carry bags must be composed of "bio-plastic" or of at least 75% biodegradable material. The new law also prohibits the sale of non-biodegradable trash bags.
