On 09 August 2005 a bill was introduced in the Colombian congress on norms for biofuels and incentives to for their production, sale and consumption. The bill defines "biofuels" as any liquid combustible obtained from biomass that means appropriate quality standards set by the Environment (MAVDT) and Energy & Mines (Minminas) Ministries and can be used in diesel engines.
